What about insurance for my bottles?
International shipping laws provide insurace coverage of 8.44€ per kg of shipped goods, so this means that each 750ml bottle has a 10€ coverage.
You may want to add extra insurance to fully cover the value of your wine. The price for this service will be 2% of the cost of the wines you are shipping. This insurance needs to be activated before we ship your wines in order to have full coverage.
Do I need to provide a receipt for my wines?
If you’re shipping outside the European Union, you will need to provide us with a copy of your sales receipt. If you are you shipping inside the European Union, you do not need to provide the receipt.
The bottles are fragile. How do you ship it?
We understand how fragile shipping wine can be. This is why we use special reinforced cardboard boxes along with Styrofoam inserts that individually protect your wines. While things CAN happen during shipping that are out of our control, we have a great track record with our shipping, with less than 1% of our shipped bottles resulting in damage.
Can I track my order online?
Yes, we will email you a link that you can use to track your shipment on either the UPS or FedEx website (depending on which shipper we are utilizing for your shipment).
Will you ship me the original wooden cases or other original packaging?
We repack your wines into secure cardboard boxes with styrofoam inserts to protect your wines. If you would like, we can also ship you the original wooden cases or original package, but for safety reasons, we have to ship them separately and this will have an additional cost. Just contact us by email and we can let you know what the additional costs will be.
Do I have to pay any customs or other fees?
When shipping to the US, you won’t have to worry about import documentation or paying any customs charges, as all fees are included in the shipping costs. This means you can just buy your wines and we will take care of everything that needs sorting in order to ship the wines to your house in the U.S.A.
You can easily ship wine with us to locations within the European Union, although there might be some customs fees that you may still need to pay. We can help you determine what fees (if any) you might need to pay on top of the shipping charges.
Can you store my bottle while waiting for cooler weather so you can ship my wine to me?
Unfortunately, we don’t have space to hold wines during the warmer months. Many of the wineries will be happy to do so, and we can collect and ship them to you once you are ready.
What if my wine is in a region you don’t pick up from?
While we can pick up from many wine regions, especially in Portugal, if we don’t currently pick up from a wine region where you have purchased or want to purchase wine, please get in touch with us. In many cases, the winery can ship the wine to our facility at reasonable rates, and then we can consolidate your wines (if necessary) and ship them out to you.
